President Maia Sandu on July 7-8 paid a working visit to Poland. The visit reaffirmed the excellent relations between the two countries and their shared determination to transform this political proximity into a sustainable economic partnership aimed at Moldova's European future.

During the visit, President Sandu met President of Poland Andrzej Duda—at the end of his second term—with Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Foreign Affairs Minister Radosław Sikorski. The Polish officials expressed strong support for the European way of Moldova, for protecting democracy and for reforms that strengthen the rule of law and institutional resilience.

At the same time, the head of state advocated for deepening the trade relations between the two states: increasing Moldovan exports to Poland and Central Europe, and attracting Polish investments into the economy of the Republic of Moldova.

“Poland is a close friend and an important supporter of Moldova. As it is one of  the world's top 20 economies, we have a real potential to transform our excellent political relations into sustainable commercial partnerships,” said President Maia Sandu.

At an invitation by Minister Radosław Sikorski, the head of state participated in the annual Conference of Polish Ambassadors, where she gave a speech on hybrid attacks against Moldova, regional security and the country's contribution to European stability. “We act like a member. We think like a member. We contribute like a member. And that means security,” said President Sandu. She highlighted Moldova's active role as a responsible partner in the region, even before joining the European Union.

The visit's agenda also included a meeting with members of the Moldovan community in Poland, hosted by the Embassy of Moldova in Warsaw. The Moldovan president thanked them for preserving their identity, contributing to Moldova's image in Poland and maintaining the connection with the country. According to official data, about 10,000 Moldovan citizens live in Poland.
