Moldovan head of state has discussions with president of Poland

Poland is a close friend and an important supporter of Moldova. I was happy to find strong support for our European path. President Maia Sandu conveyed a message to this effect. She met President of Poland Andrzej Duda and Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Warsaw.

The head of state appreciated the bilateral relations between Moldova and Poland, as well as the trade prospects between the two countries.

“Poland is a close friend and an important supporter of Moldova. As it is one of the top 20 largest economies in the world, we are working to transform the excellent political relations into commercial partnerships: more Moldovan exports to Poland and Central Europe, more Polish investments in our economy,” said Maia Sandu.

The official also referred to the strong support that Poland provided to Moldova on its path to the European Union.

“In Warsaw, I discussed with President Andrzej Duda, who is completing his second term, Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Foreign Affairs Minister Radosław Sikorski, who invited me to speak at the annual conference of Polish ambassadors. I was happy to find in all the meetings a strong support for Moldova and our European path,” Maia Sandu stressed.

Head of state Maia Sandu is on a working visit to Poland. The visit takes place in the context of efforts to promote the European integration of Moldova and strengthening of the bilateral relations with partner countries.

The agenda includes meetings with the Polish leadership. The discussions will focus on the support provided to Moldova on its path to the European Union, as well as bilateral cooperation in political, economic and security areas.

The agenda of the visit also includes a meeting with Moldovans settled in Poland.
