Over 1,800 young people today graduated from the Ion Creanga State Pedagogical University of Chisinau. The official ceremony - Graduates Gala 2025, which marked the completion of the academic journey, was organized on this occasion.
Officials, teachers and families of the graduates attended the event. A congratulatory message was delivered by Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu, who referred to the noble profession these young people had chosen.
‘’They are the ones who, in the decades to come, will shape the new generations and sometimes even change destinies. I thanked the graduates for choosing to pursue their university studies at home. With each young person staying home, this country becomes richer - it gains citizens who will build it, develop it and one day make it European,’’ said Igor Grosu.
The official emphasized that, in recent years, the authorities had invested in schools and universities, in order to provide young people a worthy educational offer.
‘’We have made the largest investment in universities in the last decades - 500 million lei. Another 1.3 billion lei is being invested in a network of Model Schools across the country. The goal is to reach 90 such schools, modern and equipped, so as to create good learning and teaching conditions everywhere in the country. We will continue to invest, modernize, repair and build. And here, our young pedagogues will help us, who through their efforts, will leave behind a better educational system, which they may not have fully benefited from, but which they will certainly build,’’ Igor Grosu noted.
For his part, Minister of Education and Research Dan Perciun said that the future teachers had chosen one of the most important missions - to contribute, through education, to the formation of future generations.
‘’Being a teacher does not mean just conveying information. It means being there - day by day - with patience, with confidence, with empathy. It means becoming the voice that tells children: you can succeed. Schools and kindergartens across the country await you, and the Ministry of Education and Research will continue to provide concrete support measures for your professional integration. I urge you to keep your vocation alive and to stay connected to the values of a modern educational system through integrity, civic involvement, competence, and responsibility,’’ said Dan Perciun.
At the same time, the minister listed a string of support measures for young specialists, including: allowances of 200,000 lei for graduates of pedagogical universities, financial support of 160,000 lei for graduates of pedagogical colleges, compensation for rent and utilities in case of employment in rural or district centers, access to continuous training programmes, as well as scholarships and international professional networks.
The Ion Creanga State Pedagogical University is one of the oldest higher education institutions of Moldova. It was founded in 1940. The university has faculties of fine arts, history, psychology and pedagogy, literature and has over the years shaped notable personalities in the pedagogy field.
