On 3 July, President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu paid a working visit to Strășeni district, and met with mayors, representatives of district public services, and residents from several villages.

In the first part of the day, the head of state discussed with the district authorities on topics of interest to citizens, including village and city development projects, investments in health and education, infrastructure modernization, and our European path.

"With financial support from the European Union, through hard work and involvement, we will succeed in transforming our villages and cities into modern localities," the President emphasized.

In recent years, Strășeni district has benefited from approximately 200 million lei through the two editions of the National Program "European Village." Among the completed projects are providing potable water to the inhabitants of Codreanca commune, renovating the kindergarten in Gălești, and extending public lighting in the village of Onești. In total, 76 projects have been implemented in Strășeni—a district with 39 localities.

The head of state visited Rădeni commune, as well as the village of Zubrești, where a fire and volunteer rescue post was recently built, serving four villages. The total value of the project is about three million lei, of which two million were allocated by the Polish Solidarity Fund PL, with the rest coming from public funds. Poland also provided nearly four million lei for a similar post being built in Rădeni. Moreover, a recreational area has been arranged in the two localities, public lighting has been extended, a road section has been repaired, and the sewage system has been expanded.

Significant investments worth 34 million lei have been directed toward the medical system in the district, including the modernization of intensive care and pediatric departments. Rehabilitation work on the infectious diseases department and the installation of photovoltaic panels, which will supply about 80% of the district hospital's electricity consumption, are planned for 2025.

Other projects related to environmental protection have been funded by the National Environmental Fund in several localities, including Lozova, Cojușna, and Greblești. Additionally, as part of the National Afforestation Program, forests have been planted and regenerated on an area of over 450 hectares.

Investments in infrastructure, public services and local economy, supported by development partners, bring concrete benefits to citizens and contribute to bringing Moldova closer to European standards.
