United States of America marks Independence Day
The United States of America celebrates Independence Day today, marking 249 years since the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. On this occasion, the US Embassy in Chisinau organized a reception attended by Chargé d'Affaires Daniela DiPierro and Prime Minister Dorin Recean.
In her speech, Daniela DiPierro highlighted the strength of the partnership between the United States and the Republic of Moldova, emphasizing "together we will continue to strengthen our countries, promote common values, and work for greater safety and prosperity."
"Today we celebrate the most important holiday of the United States – July 4th, Independence Day, the birthday of our nation. This day marks the birth of a people and honors the fundamental values of freedom, democracy, and equality. These principles define us as Americans, and we are honored to celebrate them alongside our friends in the Republic of Moldova, who share the same values," said Daniela DiPierro.
The official mentioned that the United States has stood by the Republic of Moldova since its independence, collaborating in multiple areas such as economic development, cybersecurity, refugee support, judicial reform, and border security.
"The United States and the Republic of Moldova are united by the desire to build a better future for our citizens. Together we will continue to support common values, strengthen security, and promote prosperity," emphasized Daniela DiPierro.
Recean thanked the US for the support provided to our country, mentioning "the enduring friendship between the Republic of Moldova and the United States of America."
"On behalf of the Government and the people of the Republic of Moldova, I wish our American friends a happy Independence Day! For us in Moldova, independence is personal. We know what it means to fight for the right to choose your future, to speak freely, and move forward with dignity," said the Prime Minister.
Dorin Recean added that the United States stands by the Republic of Moldova not only in words but also in deeds.
"You have helped us strengthen institutions, train professionals, protect our borders, and open our markets. You have supported Moldovan producers. Our wines, apples, IT services – all now compete on the global market. This is what a real partnership means! When Moldovan honey, our wines, or IT services reach American tables or companies, everyone benefits. We are proud of this partnership. It makes us more resilient, more confident, more competitive," remarked the Prime Minister.
According to the official, the cooperation between the US and the Republic of Moldova spans various areas, including energy security, education, digital transformation, and strengthening democracy.
"The US is a true friend of Moldova. You have listened, been present, and helped us through difficult days with calm and clarity," stated Dorin Recean.
