EPC Summit to increase Moldova's notoriety at international level
Chisinau, May 16. /MOLDPRES/- Experts believe that the organization of the European Political Community Summit in the Republic of Moldova will bring many benefits for our country, which thus obtains a historic chance to substantially increase its notoriety, promote its political agenda, hospitality industry, country's brand and investment offer.
International events such as summits, conferences or diplomatic meetings bring significant benefits to economies and countries.
According to head of Country Brand Promotion department at the Invest Moldova Agency Irina Tolstousov, hosting international events offers the opportunity to demonstrate to the world what a country can offer, and positive perception is essential for those who visit. "The small size of a country is not a barrier in occupying a strong position in the "soft power" ranking, and the Republic of Moldova has a historic chance to substantially increase its notoriety. One such example is Qatar, which, after hosting the FIFA World Cup, ranked 26th in the Global Soft Power Index. In other words, we will be featured in the most important news journals, and millions of people around the world will know us. Thus, in a practical way, the summit will become the most important promotion campaign for the country, without direct investments in increasing popularity", said Irina Tolstousov.
Experts believe that organizing the summit in Moldova will bring benefits for the whole country, as it will facilitate the sharing of culture, values, connections and expertise, bringing a political, cultural and economic potential to our society.
Representative of the WatchDog community Andrei Curăraru said that the benefits obtained as a result of hosting the summit are much greater than the expenses, and the impact produced by the media coverage of this event is much greater than what we will invest in its organization.
On June 1, our country will be the host of the European Political Community Summit, an event that will bring to the Republic of Moldova about 2000 political leaders, diplomatic delegates or international journalists from over 37 countries.
