Moldovan PM has meeting with High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy

Prime Minister Dorin Recean today in Brussels met High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas. The two officials will chair the Republic of Moldova - European Union Association Council meeting.

"Along with Kaja Kallas, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, we will chair the Moldova - European Union Association Council today. I am happy that we have a strong supporter in Kaja Kallas for the determination with which we move into the European Union," said Dorin Recean.

The PM emphasized that the government's priority was Moldova becoming member of the big European family as soon as possible.

"For us, this means peace, stability and a good future for our children at home," said prime minister.

Prime Minister Dorin Recean pays a visit to Brussels on June 3-4, where the ninth meeting of the Moldova - European Union Association Council is taking place.

The participants in the meeting will analyze the progress made by Moldova on the path of accession to the European Union and the achievements recorded since the last Association Council meeting.

The discussions will focus on the reform agenda, with an emphasis on justice reform, the fight against corruption and strengthening democracy and security. Economic cooperation, particularly in the energy sector, will also be assessed.
