Moldovan citizens in USA to have faster access to documents and consular services
The diplomatic mission of the Republic of Moldova in Washington D.C. will be equipped with new mobile equipment for collecting biometric data, which will allow the issuance of identity cards and passports.
Thus, Moldovan citizens in the USA will have faster access to the documents and services they need, including through the continuation of the program "The Embassy Comes Closer to You."
The initiatives, currently being implemented, were discussed during a meeting between Speaker Igor Grosu and Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popșoi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, with members of the Moldovan community in Washington. The role and contribution that the diaspora brings to the development of the Republic of Moldova were highlighted during the discussions.
"I was pleased to meet active Moldovans eager to contribute to initiating cultural and educational projects that will bring benefits to our country. I thanked them for promoting the image of the Republic of Moldova in the United States," said Mihai Popșoi.
A delegation of the Republic of Moldova, led by Grosu is paying an official visit to the United States of America on December 2-10, during which they met with high-ranking officials from the US Congress, the White House, the National Security Council and the Department of State.
In Washington, discussions focused on consolidating American support for reforms in the Republic of Moldova, strengthening national security, and developing bilateral cooperation.
After meetings in the US capital, the Moldovan delegation will continue the visit in Chicago and North Carolina, where discussions are scheduled with representatives of local authorities and the Moldovan community in the USA.
