MPs held minute of silence in memory of Ukrainian children killed in missile attack

At the start of today’s plenary session, MPs held a minute of silence in memory of Ukrainian children killed this weekend by a Russian missile attack.

Speaker Igor Grosu said that recently, a Russian missile destroyed an entire street in a city in Ukraine.

“18 people were killed, among them nine children. These people are being killed because the Ukrainian people do not want to give up their country. On the contrary, they have been defending their freedom, country and future for three years. We stand alongside our neighbors and repeatedly demand that these war crimes be punished. Let us be united, let us stand for peace. Colleagues, I propose to hold a minute of silence,” Grosu said.

Several people lost their lives and 50 were injured on Friday in a Russian bombing of a residential area in the Ukrainian city of Kryvyi Rig (center), according to local authorities, marking one of the most severe strikes in recent weeks in Ukraine.
