Moldovans with Romanian citizenship can vote starting today in Romania's presidential elections

Romanian citizens in the Republic of Moldova can vote starting today in Romania's presidential elections. In this regard, 64 polling stations have been opened in our country, which will operate for three days, between 07:00 - 21:00.

“Voting begins in the Republic of Moldova! All 64 polling stations are open, most of them have already received the first voters,” announced the Romanian Embassy in Chisinau.

In the North region, 18 stations are open, in the Center region - 38 stations, of which 20 are in Chisinau, and in the South region - 8 polling stations.

In the first round of Romania's presidential elections, about 91,000 Moldovans with Romanian citizenship voted over three days. Romanians in the Republic of Moldova were among the most active voters in the diaspora, following countries such as Italy, Germany, the United Kingdom and Spain.

In the current elections, voter turnout in the Republic of Moldova is higher than in the elections on November 24 last year, when about 81,000 Romanian citizens voted in our country.

In Romania's presidential elections, 965 polling stations were opened abroad. Romanian citizens in the diaspora have three days to vote. The presidential race features two candidates: AUR party candidate George Simion and independent candidate Nicusor Dan.
