Government Spokesperson on Prime Minister's discussions with mayors of Moldova

Prime Minister Dorin Recean's visits to localities in the Republic of Moldova have contributed to strengthening the dialogue between central and local authorities, formalizing communication based on values. Government spokesperson Daniel Vodă claims he has attended over 200 conversations held by the prime minister with mayors. Vodă concludes that the dialogue contributes to the development of the Republic of Moldova, a development felt in every locality.

Daniel Vodă notes that discussions and meetings in the field address local issues, solutions, and methods of efficient resource utilization.

'In these conversations, the real Moldova appears, where discussions revolve around water networks, sidewalks, sewage, digitalization, renovated kindergartens, and well-equipped hospitals. Discussions about how European funds or state budget money can be better utilized. And most importantly: about how we can do more, better, and faster,' mentioned the official.

Vodă emphasized that the direct dialogue between central authorities and local elected officials is held in a constructive atmosphere, devoid of violent rhetoric or verbal attacks, with each participant listened to attentively.

'Do you know what I've never heard in such discussions? Impolite language, personal attacks, or sterile accusations. Every person speaks on behalf of a locality, a community with its concerns,' Vodă said.

He concludes that the prime minister's direct communication with local representatives has demonstrated its efficiency through concrete results.

The dialogue between those who lead the country and those who administer it, according to Vodă, must become a 'norm' because real public discussion doesn't only happen on TV sets or on social networks.

Today, Recean is on a working visit to Hîncești district. He has meetings with representatives of local public authorities and decentralized services in the district.
