Prime Minister in Hîncești: Our priority - to maintain same pace, to transform localities into clean, safe, modern places

The implementation of modernization projects for localities, the benefits included in the Budget Plus package, and the European Union's support for the country's economic development through the Growth Plan for Moldova were discussed at Prime Minister Dorin Recean's meeting with representatives of local public authorities and decentralized services in Hîncești district.

The Prime Minister urged mayors to continue carrying out projects that solve the most pressing issues of the people, noting that the European Village Program offers these opportunities and prepares the localities for the assimilation of pre-accession funds. In the last 3 years, in Hîncești, the Government has allocated around 220 million lei to implement 57 projects through the European Village Program. Water and sewage networks, renovated kindergartens, street lighting, sports fields, cultural or environmental projects are just a few examples showing the authorities' concern for Hîncești residents.

Additionally, the Prime Minister spoke about the adoption of the Budget Plus package - the largest financial package ever allocated by the Government of the Republic of Moldova for investment and economic growth. The Budget Plus involves allocations of about 8 billion lei and is built on two dimensions: the energy package and the economic development package.

According to the Prime Minister, the energy package includes essential social measures and continued support for the population: compensation for electricity in the bill for the first 110kWh, monetary compensation for heating provided in the cold season, compensations allocated to LPA for hospitals, kindergartens, schools, and other social purpose institutions to reduce the cost of electricity bills. To ease the transition out of winter and pay the bills, an Easter aid was provided to families. Regarding the economic development package - funds will be allocated for strategic projects and investments, with measures planned to lead to economic growth of over 5% by 2028.

He reminded that our country will benefit from the largest financial support package from the European Union, amounting to 1.9 billion euros: "On 9 May, Europe Day, Moldova Growth Plan was signed. This will help us develop infrastructure, energy security, improve medical services, and implement reforms. Our priority is to maintain the same pace, to transform our localities into clean, safe and modern places."

The local representatives requested the support of central authorities to solve problems regarding the change of purpose for unused real estate, the construction of water supply and sewage networks, as well as the expansion of "Lunca Prutului" project.
