Speaker alongside diaspora in UK at celebration of traditions
Speaker Igor Grosu attended two festivals organized by the Moldovan diaspora in Northampton, UK, on 29 June – Diaspora Fest: Sports and Traditions and Wheat Spike Festival.
Thousands of Moldovans settled in the United Kingdom gathered to celebrate the culture, traditions and unity of the community.
The events transformed Northampton into a genuine stage of Moldovan traditions, with music, dancing, fine food and good cheer, in an atmosphere celebrating the nation and shared values. Folk craftsmen presented handicrafts, while dance ensembles and artists from the diaspora rounded out the cultural program.
Igor Grosu emphasized that the diaspora in the UK represents an example of unity and promotion of national identity, noting the active involvement of compatriots in maintaining the connection with their country of origin.
Events organized by the diaspora serve as a bridge between Moldovans abroad and those at home, strengthening community spirit and national identity.
Grosu is visiting the UK. He met with representatives of Moldovan communities in the country and attended Diaspora Invest. Investing at home forum.
