VIDEO // Dutch PM welcomes Moldovan president in the Netherlands
President Maia Sandu today arrived in the Kingdom of the Netherlands, where she was welcomed by Prime Minister Rob Jetten at an official ceremony.
During the visit, Maia Sandu will have talks with Prime Minister Rob Jetten and Foreign Affairs Minister Tom Berendsen.
On May 21, at an invitation by President of the Czech Republic Petr Pavel, Moldovan the head of state will take part in the Globsec Forum in Prague, one of the most important international platforms dedicated to security and foreign policy. On the sidelines of the event, Maia Sandu will have a bilateral meeting with the Czech president and will deliver a speech on Moldova’s experience in protecting democracy and combating foreign interference.
On May 19, the Moldovan president was at the European Parliament, where she had meetings with European Parliament President Roberta Metsola. Maia Sandu was also awarded the European Order of Merit, during a ceremony held at the European Parliament. The distinction is granted to personalities who have significantly contributed to the promotion of European values and to the strengthening of the European project.
