President’s visit to Kingdom of the Netherlands

President Maia Sandu is paying an official visit to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, where she will hold meetings with Prime Minister Rob Jetten and Foreign Minister Tom Berendsen. At the end of the discussions with the Dutch prime minister, the two officials will make joint press statements.

On May 21, at the invitation of the President of the Czech Republic, Petr Pavel, the head of state will participate in the Globsec Forum in Prague, one of the most important international platforms dedicated to security and foreign policy. On the margins of the event, Maia Sandu will have a bilateral meeting with the Czech president and will deliver a speech on the Republic of Moldova’s experience in protecting democracy and countering foreign interference.

Earlier, on Tuesday, May 19, the president was at the European Parliament, where she held meetings with Roberta Metsola. Maia Sandu was also awarded the European Order of Merit during a ceremony organized at the European Parliament. The distinction is granted to personalities who have made a significant contribution to promoting European values and strengthening the European project.
