Moldovan foreign affairs minister, Monaco's diplomacy head discuss bilateral cooperation, Council of Europe's priorities
Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs Mihai Popsoi today in Chisinau had a meeting with Monaco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Isabelle Berro-Amadeï, on her first official visit to Moldova.
The meeting took place in the context of the 135th Ministerial Session of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, during which Monaco took over the Presidency of the Committee from Moldova.
According to the Foreign Affairs Ministry (MAE), Mihai Popsoi congratulated the Monegasque authorities on assuming the mandate and expressed Moldova’s readiness to support Monaco in exercising the Presidency.
For her part, Isabelle Berro-Amadeï said that support for Ukraine, as well as combating foreign interference and information manipulation would remain among the priorities of the Principality of Monaco during its mandate at the helm of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe.
The two officials also discussed strengthening bilateral Moldovan–Monegasque relations, particularly in the economic field. The discussions focused on cooperation in such areas as combating corruption and money laundering, the agri-food industry and the wine sector.
During the meeting, Mihai Popsoi reiterated Moldova’s interest in promoting Moldovan wines on the Monegasque market.
Diplomatic relations between Moldova and the Principality of Monaco were established on September 8, 2011.
