About 200 explosive objects found in Moldova in April

National Army sappers carried out 17 demining missions in April, during which 211 explosive objects were neutralized.

According to the Ministry of Defense, demining teams from military units were requested by local public authorities in several localities such as Căușeni, Hâncești, Anenii Noi, Ștefan Vodă, Ungheni, Criuleni, Florești, Fălești, Rezina, Leova, as well as the municipality of Chișinău.

One of the most dangerous demining missions was carried out in the locality of Cioburciu, Ștefan Vodă district, where a team of sappers led by Major Ion Golovei discovered and neutralized 23 artillery shells, 105 mm caliber.

All munitions were from the World War II and were neutralized under maximum safety conditions.

Since the beginning of the year, National Army sappers have executed 52 demining missions, resulting in the neutralization of 333 explosive objects of various types and 120 cartridges.

National Army sappers urge citizens to be cautious when discovering explosive objects in the soil and to strictly follow these rules: immediately report to 112; mark the location of the discovered explosive object; do not touch the munitions with hands or any other objects; do not hit or move the munitions found in the ground or on the surface; do not dismantle fuses or other components; do not throw explosive objects into fire.
