Former Democratic Leader Vladimir Plahotniuc and Serghei Iaralov might testify in 'Kuliok' case
Former PDM leader Vladimir Plahotniuc and Serghei Iaralov might be called to testify in 'kuliok' case, in which former president Igor Dodon is accused.
The request for the hearing was made by prosecutors because the two appear in images in which a bag is handed to the former head of state Igor Dodon, allegedly containing money.
The hearing scheduled for today has been postponed, and Igor Dodon did not show up. Previously, he pleaded not guilty and reiterated that the images of him were fake.
Prosecutors say that the hearing of the two is possible only with their consent, as they are accused in other cases.
The 'kuliok' case was resumed at the end of November, after the court panel changed, and the trial was restarted from scratch.
During the previous proceedings, the court heard 15 prosecution witnesses and examined numerous documents and reports.
The prosecution in the case known as 'kuliok' was resumed on May 18, 2022, after the Chișinău Court of Appeal annulled the Chișinău Court decision not to initiate the criminal proceedings against former president Igor Dodon.
The case is based on a video recording from June 2019, in which Dodon appears alongside Vladimir Plahotniuc and Serghei Iaralov.
