Better conditions for education for 13,000 students of Moldova: 30 million euros to be invested in modernizing more schools

A sum of 30 million euros will be used for the modernization of 15 general education institutions, where about 13,000 students study. The investment will be made possible through a loan agreement signed between the Ministry of Education and Research and the Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB).

At the same time, the project will be co-financed by a grant worth five million euros provided by the Eastern Europe Energy Efficiency and Environment Partnership (E5P), which will be used for energy efficiency improvements in the institutions.

The 15 institutions included in the project are part of the Model Schools Network. They will benefit from complete building renovations, landscaping of the adjacent areas (approximately 28 hectares), implementation of energy efficiency measures and setting of renewable energy sources, adaptation of infrastructure to ensure accessibility, as well as endowment with modern equipment and furniture.

The Model Schools Network is an initiative launched by the Ministry of Education and Research, aimed at developing a modern, accessible educational system aligned with European standards.
