ERRATUM // Moldovan parliament speaker does not say in interview given with MOLDPRES that Moldova is dependent on Russian gas
The State Information Agency MOLDPRES informs that, in the interview titled: “VIDEO, MOLDPRES INTERVIEW // Moldovan parliament speaker: “We must persuade each member state that Moldova deserves to be in the European Union”, published on 31 July 2026, a regrettable error occurred.
In the text of the interview, a sentence was published that was not spoken by the parliament speaker, referring to Moldova’s dependence on Russian gas.
The error was corrected as quickly as possible and the revised version of the text is available on the agency’s official news feed.
The MOLDPRES State Information Agency expresses its regret for this incident and apologizes to Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu, as well as to all readers and media institutions that reproduced the initial information.
We assure the public that respect for truth and journalistic accuracy remains an absolute priority for the agency.
At the same time, MOLDPRES announces that an internal investigation has been launched, in order to establish precisely the circumstances in which this error occurred, to identify the persons responsible and to apply the measures provided for by law.
