State aid for companies involved in dual education: Moldovan government improves mechanism
Companies of Moldova that are involved in dual education will receive state aid to compensate their expenses. A decision to this effect was approved by the government today.
The decision provides for compensation from the state budget of up to 50 per cent of the expenses incurred by economic entities for organizing and implementing vocational training programmes for students in dual education.
"We are bringing good news for the entrepreneurs who are engaged in this process. We already have more than 200 companies. For them, we guarantee the reimbursement of 50 per cent of eligible costs incurred for the practical training of students. Until now, we have been talking about up to 50 per cent; now, it becomes 50 per cent, so that they have maximum predictability of costs. At the same time, we will increase the subsidy funds for this measure to 25 million lei annually. We thank all entrepreneurs who help us have young people as well prepared as possible for the labor market," said Education and Research Minister Dan Perciun at the government meeting.
According to the draft’s explanatory note, in 2026 it is estimated that about 130 companies will benefit from the state aid scheme in dual education for the practical training of an approximate number of 2,000 pupils.
Dual education is a special form of training and vocational education, with responsibilities shared between dual partners – the company (workplace) and the educational institution. Thus, students receive structured practical training at the company, while theory is learned at the educational institution.
According to statistics data, the number of young people admitted to dual education has been steadily increasing in recent years. During the 2026–2027 academic year, more than 2,600 state-funded places in dual education are available for 9th-grade graduates.
