Fourth-grade students from 80 educational institutions of Moldova to take the national test on computers

The fourth-grade students from 80 schools will take the national test at the end of their primary grade on computers.

The pilot project is conducted by the Ministry of Education and Research (MEC) and the National Agency for Curriculum and Evaluation (ANCE). It includes educational institutions from 21 districts and municipalities which expressed interest in participating.

The officials in charge of organizing the pilot test on March 12-14, 2025 participate in in a string of trainings organized by MEC and ANCE, in partnership with a group of experts from Estonia. The Estonian specialists will provide training on the digital platform used for conducting the testing and will explain the technical and functional aspects related to it. At the same time, the experts will share best practices and innovative solutions applied in digital education.

“Implementing digital testing represents an important step in the modernization process of Moldova’s the educational system. We are proud to collaborate with specialists from Estonia, a successful example in digital education, in order to ensure an efficient transition to a modern evaluation, accessible to all students,” f ANCE director Lilia Ivanov said.

On March 24-28, 2025, students from the institutions participating in the pilot programme will have opportunity to test the digital platform, in order to familiarize  with the process. The goal is to identify any technical difficulties and solve them in advance.

The national mathematics test for primary education will take place on May 13, 2025.
