President Maia Sandu has resumed, in south Moldova, discussions with young people, parents and teachers about children’s mental health and online safety. The head of state also visited the District Hospital from Cahul and the two ports in Giurgiulesti.

The official spoke with young people about digital challenges and safe navigation in the online environment.

“In the south of the country, we continued the discussions on mental health and online safety that started a few weeks ago. In Cahul, I talked with young people, parents and teachers about the challenges in the digital environment and about how we can help children navigate the internet safely. It is a shared responsibility – of the family, of the school and of the whole society,” said Maia Sandu.

Another important topic was the project and construction of the future Regional Hospital from Cahul.

“During the visit, we also addressed other topics. At the District Hospital of the city, we discussed the project of the future Regional Hospital, which is to be built on the site of the current unit. We analyzed the transition stages and how we can ensure the continuity of medical services for patients from the entire region,” Maia Sandu specified.

The head of state also visited the two ports in Giurgiulesti.

“We discussed the modernization of these important gateways for our trade and how we can better capitalize on this strategic point for the development of the economy and the increase of Moldova’s exports. The south of the country has hardworking people and great potential. I am confident that we can harness it,” Maia Sandu underlined.

President Maia Sandu’s visit to the south of the country is part of a string of trips in the territory dedicated to dialogue with citizens and the monitoring of strategic projects for regional development.
