Good news for Moldovans in Croatia and Canadian province of Quebec
Citizens of the Republic of Moldova settled in Croatia and Canadian province of Quebec will be able to benefit from pensions and other social benefits. The Foreign Policy Commission of the Parliament approved today the advisory opinions for initiating negotiations on two international agreements in social security.
The purpose of these agreements is to ensure social rights for migrant workers who work or have worked professionally and/or reside in Moldova, Croatia or Quebec.
Once ratified, entitled persons will have access to age-limit pensions, disability pensions caused by general conditions or work accidents, professional pensions, and survivor's pensions.
According to official data, approximately 15,000 Moldovan citizens live in Quebec, and 150 people reside permanently in Croatia.
The Republic of Moldova has signed 20 international agreements in the field of social security so far, of which 18 are already applicable.
