More opportunities for culture professionals: government approved Moldova's accession to Creative Europe Program
Starting 1 January 2026, artists and other culture professionals will have access to more funding and international collaboration opportunities. The cabinet of ministers has approved a draft law for the ratification of the Agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the European Union regarding our country's participation in the Creative Europe Program.
Thus, the Republic of Moldova will benefit from European funds for cultural projects, will be able to participate in international events and collaborations, and creative young people will have the chance to develop new skills in art and culture. In addition, the Creative Europe program will support the mobility of artists and facilitate the exchange of experiences between professionals from different countries, thereby contributing to increasing the competitiveness and visibility of the cultural sectors.
The partnership will also mean a diversification of the cultural offer in the country through the organization of events, exhibitions, films, and performances. The program will also support the development of creative industries, contributing to job creation and stimulating the local economy.
'This year, the European Union is allocating 380 million for such projects to which representatives of the cultural sector of the Republic of Moldova can apply. On this occasion, I urge the entire cultural community to participate in this program,' Minister of Culture Cristian Jardan said.
The agreement was signed on 2 September and is to be submitted to the Parliament for ratification. The Creative Europe Program (2021–2027) is the main instrument of the European Union for supporting the cultural and creative sectors, with a total budget of about 2.4 billion euros.
