Moldova's population to enjoy drinking water in accordance with European standards; authorities prepare national programme

The Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development (MIDR) will develop the National Development Programme for the Supply with Water and Sewerage Sector for the period 2026-2030, with the support of the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) Moldova.

The programme will serve as a strategic planning document and will align national policies in the field with the current European and international standards.

“The transformation of the water supply and sewerage sector of Moldova will directly contribute to improving citizens' living conditions, ensuring their access to safe drinking water and quality sewerage services,” explains MIDR.

On April 30, UNICEF Moldova launched a call for consultation services, inviting interested companies to submit proposals for developing the Programme.

“The deadline for the submission of bids is May 22, at 23:59 (GMT+3). Further information regarding the terms of reference and eligibility conditions can be accessed at the following links: https://www.ungm.org/Public/Notice/265618; https://sc.undp.md/tnddetails_un2/3040”, the Ministry of Infrastructure added.
