Moldovan government launches service of assistance for Diaspora Moldovans who return home
The government today launched the Governmental Return Assistance Service, an initiative dedicated to supporting Diaspora Moldovan citizens who want to return home. The service is created at the Diaspora Relations Bureau of the State Chancellery and will work as a one-stop desk for individualized support during the pre-return, return and post-return process.
The new structure aims to facilitate the social and economic reintegration of returned citizens through personalized counseling and guidance towards necessary services. They will receive information about access to public services, education and health, support for the recognition of studies, starting a business or employment. At the same time, they will be able to participate in informative sessions and community activities and will be directed, if necessary, to institutions providing specialized support.
The service is free of charge and can be accessed by phone, email, online platforms, or directly at the Bureau's headquarters. An initial interview will help identify the individual needs of each applicant, and for more complex cases, local or central public authorities will be involved.
The support period offered to citizens who have returned to the country ranges from 6 months to one year, during which the progress of each beneficiary will be monitored.
Through this approach, the authorities aim not only to facilitate the return home of Diaspora citizens, but also to create sustainable conditions for their reintegration into their origin communities.
