
Moldovan State University becomes member of Network of Universities from the Capitals of Europe
Chisinau, 1 July /MOLDPRES/ - The Moldovan State University (USM) has become member of the Network of Universities from the Capitals of Europe (UNICA). The UNICA General Assembly on 30 June unanimously approved USM’s candidature to become full-fledged member of this organization.
According to the USM press service, following the decision, the education institution becomes equal partner of the big university centres from the European capitals and the right of voice at the table of discussions. The Imperial College of London, the Bucharest University, the Vienna University, the Brussels Free University, the Amsterdam University, Freie Universität Berlin, the Helsinki University, Sapienza University, etc. participate in this table of discussions as well.
At the same time, the participants in the assembly approved UNICA’s mission and vision document, through which the organization commits to act as a catalyst for the development, integration and cooperation of the member universities from the entire Europe.
UNICA is an institutional network of universities from the capitals of Europe. It was founded in 1990 and is presently made up of 51 universities from 37 capitals of Europe and brings together over 180,000 university staff and two million students.
