PHOTO // KFOR 23 contingent of Moldova starts peacekeeping operation in Kosovo

The National Army's KFOR 23 Contingent has started its peacekeeping operation in Kosovo, according to the Ministry of Defense.

During the solemn ceremony, the commander of the 22nd KFOR contingent, Major Radu Turcanu handed over responsibilities and the flag to Major Ion Badarau, the superior of the KFOR 23 contingent.

In recognition, the KFOR 22 contingent soldiers were awarded the medal for participation in the peacekeeping operation.

At the end, the Moldovan officers, sergeants and soldiers who completed their activity exchanged badges with the new colleagues who will continue to fulfill the mission in the area of responsibility.

Moldova has been participating in the KFOR mission since 2014, constantly  contributing to international peacekeeping efforts.
