Twenty two public medical and sanitary institutions of Moldova receive electric generators

Chisinau, 22 June /MOLDPRES/ - A number of 22 public medical and sanitary institutions today received electric generators purchased with the financial support of the government of the United States. The donation was made through the Energy Security of Moldova Project of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).    
The event on the official delivery of the generators took place at the Timofei Mosneaga Republican Clinical Hospital – one of the beneficiary institutions.  
Health Minister Ala Nemerenco stressed that ’due to these generators, the institutions will be more prepared to provide patients with uninterrupted access to medical services, in cases of eventual interruptions of power supply.’’  
The generators, with an overall capacity of 2,045 kW, were distributed by the ministry to 10 district hospitals, 11 republican institutions and one municipal hospital. Thus, the following institutions benefited by one generator each: Timofei Mosneaga Republican Clinical Hospital, Diomid Gherman Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery, Emergency Medicine Institute, Cardiology Institute, Clinical Hospital of Traumatology and Orthopaedy, Narcology Republican Health Centre, Republican Centre of Rehabilitation for Children, Balti Clinical Hospital, the centre of temporary placement and rehabilitation for children from Balti, as well as the lunatic asylums from Chisinau and Balti.        
Also, the district hospitals from Ungheni, Stefan Voda, Sangerei, Edinet, Rezina, Leova, Drochia, Telenești, Comrat, Basarabeasca, as well as the Municipal Clinical Hospital No 4 from Chisinau received electric generators too.  
The total value of the electric generators is 710,000 dollars.
Starting from March 2022, the medical institutions from Moldova have been endowed by the Health Ministry with 105 electric generators.
