Unusual seizure at Chisinau Airport: crocodile skins found in passenger's luggage

An unusual seizure has occurred at the Chisinau International Airport. Customs officials discovered 10 skins, presumed to be crocodile skins, hidden in the luggage of a passenger who arrived from Istanbul.

According to the Customs Service, although the traveler chose the green lane reserved for those with nothing to declare, suspicions led customs officials to conduct a detailed inspection of the suitcase. Among personal belongings, the hidden skins were found, which authorities suspect were intended to be smuggled into the country.

The person documented in this case is a 53-year-old man, a citizen of Kazakhstan.

The skins have been confiscated and sent for examination. If confirmed to be crocodile skins, their total value could exceed 10,000 U.S. dollars.
