LIVE // Government's activity report for first 100 days
The Government’s first 100 days in office have set in motion a broad agenda of reforms and economic priorities during a far-from-simple period. Above all, these are about direction, responsibility and change, but most importantly, about results. Prime Minister Vasile Tofan made the statements today as he presented the activity report for first 100 days since taking office. The document includes 182 results, decisions and projects completed or initiated.
The Prime Minister said that the Government’s first 100 days in office were primarily about direction, responsibility, change and results. According to him, the report includes 182 results, decisions and projects completed or initiated during the period.
“For me, these 100 days in the Government that I have the honor to represent are not so much about how many meetings we held or how many decisions we adopted. They are, first and foremost, about direction, responsibility and change. But above all, they are about results. Today we published the detailed report on the first one hundred days: 182 results, decisions and projects completed or initiated,” Vasile Tofan said.
Vasile Tofan stressed “the first one hundred days have set in motion a broad agenda of reforms and economic priorities during a far-from-simple period.”
The report includes the Government’s results in all areas of activity, including the economy, education, healthcare, justice, local public administration reform and energy.
According to the official, exports of Moldovan products increased by nearly 13%, industrial production by approximately 7%, and agricultural production by more than 11%.
“We eliminated unnecessary permits. This represents estimated savings of 37 million lei in the first phase alone. We approved a roadmap containing 30 measures to simplify service provision. We are preparing Start initiative, through which a small business will be able to be launched with much less bureaucracy, without prior registrations, directly from a phone,” the Prime Minister emphasized.
In the field of social protection, the Government introduced an annual payment of 3,000 lei for more than 30,000 children with disabilities.
The Prime Minister also announced investments of more than 50 million lei in 20 model schools. In addition, 57 school minibuses were purchased, student scholarships increased by at least 40%, and 468 young professionals chose to work in schools and kindergartens—the highest number to date.
In the field of justice, Tofan said that of the 240 judges who entered the external evaluation process, 70 left the system and resigned, while 46 failed the evaluation. In the case of prosecutors, 33 of the 84 evaluated failed the assessment.
“Step by step, we are cleaning the system of corrupt judges, judges who cannot explain their assets, and corrupt prosecutors. It is a difficult process, but the independence of the judiciary cannot mean the absence of integrity standards. And those who administer justice must not believe that, with the passage of time, the state will forget,” the Prime Minister pointed out.
He said that all the reforms initiated by the Government share a common direction: European integration.
“This is the common thread connecting them all. The European Commission’s report, published yesterday, confirms the progress made by the Republic of Moldova. Four of the six clusters have already been opened, and the Commission considers that Moldova meets the conditions for opening all the remaining clusters. The goal of completing the technical work by the beginning of 2028 is ambitious but achievable if we maintain the pace. We are not the ones saying this—the European Commission says it in its report. Our final objective is to complete the negotiations by late 2028,” he said.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the direction remains clear: a more competitive economy, a more efficient state and a Moldova increasingly prepared for European integration.
“The first 100 days do not represent a final assessment. Some results will become visible quickly. There will be mistakes in all areas, and some projects will move more slowly. Some reforms will face resistance. Not all necessary measures will be popular. But a Government’s responsibility is not merely to pursue what produces results by next week. It is to make decisions that will make the country stronger in five or six years. The direction is clear: a more competitive economy, a more efficient state and a Moldova increasingly prepared for European integration,” Vasile Tofan said.
The Cabinet of Ministers led by Vasile Tofan was approved by Parliament on July 21 of this year.
