Well-known Moldovan panpipe player, composer marks 60th birthday anniversary
Chisinau, 2 October /MOLDPRES/ - Panpipe player, composer, People’s Artist, laureate of more national and international contests, holder of the Order of Honour Constantin Moscovici marks his 60th birthday anniversary today.
Constantin Moscovici was born in the Carpineni village, central Hancesti district, in 1962. He studied at the secondary school form his native village and, in parallel, - at the Music School from Carpineni. Afterwards, Moscovici continued his education at the Gavriil Musicescu Arts Institute from Chisinau (presently the Music, Theatre and Fine Arts Academy), Popular Instruments Faculty, Panpipe specialty, the class of teacher Vasile Iovu (1979-1983). As of 1984, he dedicated to his musical career, working at the State Philharmonic from Chisinau (presently the Serghei Lunchevici National Philharmonic) as soloist instrumentalist in the Legenda (Legend) band, led by Iurie Sadovnic.
During 1987-1990, Moscovici was member of the band led by composer Anatol Chiriac. In 1990-1995, he worked in Brasov, Romania. He was soloist instrumentalist in the Fag band (1995-1997). In 1997, Moscovici returned to the Serghei Lunchevici National Philharmonic, where he has worked till present. He annually organizes charity concerts for orphan children. In 2006, he was in audience at the Pope Benedict XVI, after which he gave 68 charity concerts all over Italy, raising funds for orphan children from Moldova. During 2013-2018, he worked also in Miami, USA. During his artistic career, he sang with more well-known singers. In 2014, he was a special guest of Tamara Gverdtsiteli (Georgia), with an exceptional recital in the Carnegie Hall from the United States.

Starting from 2014, he has been director of the International Ethno-Festival of Song, Dances and Popular Trades La mijloc de codru des (In the Middle of the Dense Forest). During 2002-2019, Moscovici made numerous tours to Austria, the Czech Republic, China, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Japan, Poland, Romania, Russia, Spain, USA, Ukraine and other countries. He has been member of the Musicians’ Union from Moldova (1996). He also got numerous prizes at various contests and festivals. The artist is also Doctor Honoris Causa of the University of Comrat, Gagauz-Yeri Autonomous Territorial Unit.
Constantin Moscovici was highly appreciated with state distinctions for his entire career: honorific title, Master in Art (2000), People’s Artist of Moldova (2009), Labour Glory order (2012), Francisc Skorina medal (Belarus, 2018), the distinction, The Best Foreign Singer (Ukraine, 2019), knight of the Order of Honour (2020).
