Moldovan parliament speaker says young people must study in modern conditions, be able to build future at home

Education is one of the most important investments in the future of Moldova. The government has approved an investment of 80 million euros to modernize 25 vocational and technical education institutions, benefiting almost one in every two students in the country’s colleges, vocational schools and centers of excellence. Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu has made statements to this effect.

According to the speaker, the investment will help improve study conditions and give young people the opportunity to acquire skills in demand on the labor market.

“Education is one of the most important investments in the future of Moldova and stays a priority for us,” Igor Grosu said.

He emphasized that modernizing vocational and technical education institutions was important, so that young people can study in modern conditions and build a future in Moldova.

“Investing in education means investing in people, the economy and the future of our country,” the parliament speaker said.

On October 12, Education and Research Minister Dan Perciun said that the project provided for the renovation of 47 buildings belonging to the 25 institutions, including 24 educational buildings with workshops and laboratories, as well as 23 dormitories.

In addition to modernizing the infrastructure, occupational and qualification standards will be updated and the institutions will receive teaching materials adapted to the requirements of the labor market.

According to the cited source, the aim is for young people to acquire the skills and competencies necessary to find employment in the fields needed by the economy.

The initiative is part of the Growth Plan for Moldova, supported by the European Union, and seeks to give young people the opportunity to learn a trade in modern conditions and build their future in the country.
