PHOTO GALLERY // Thousands celebrate Independence of the Republic of Moldova in Great National Assembly Square

Thousands of people gathered on Thursday evening in the Great National Assembly Square in Chișinău for the concert dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the proclamation of the Independence of the Republic of Moldova. The event brought together local artists and turned the city center into a space of celebration, music, and emotion.

In addition to the President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, the concert was attended by the two heads of state visiting Chișinău on the occasion of the Independence anniversary – the President of Romania, Nicușor Dan, and the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky. The three officials addressed the crowd and conveyed messages to the citizens of the Republic of Moldova, congratulating them on Independence Day.

The festive atmosphere was enhanced by the musical performance on the stage set up in the city center. Thousands of spectators sang and danced together with the artists, marking through music the 35 years of independence.

The concert was the culmination of the events organized throughout August 27, when the Republic of Moldova celebrated the adoption of the Declaration of Independence in 1991.
