Airline launches direct flights from Chisinau to new destination in Europe
An airline has launched direct flights from the Eugen Doga Chisinau International Airport to the city of Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia.
The Embassy of Moldova in Austria and the Slovak Republic took part in the event of launch of the route with a national stand, meant to promote the image of Moldova as a tourist destination, through presentations of its cultural heritage, traditions and tourist attractions.
According to the diplomatic mission, the opening of the Bratislava - Chisinau route represents an important step in strengthening the connectivity of Moldova with Central Europe, facilitating tourism, business travel and people-to-people exchanges and contributing to the country’s economic and international integration.
In her speech, Ambassador Victoria Rosa emphasized the importance of developing regional air connectivity, highlighting the beauty of Moldova, its tourism, cultural and wine-making potential, as well as the role of mobility in strengthening economic, trade and interpersonal relations.
According to the flight schedule published on the official website of the Chisinau International Airport, flights to Bratislava will be operated on Mondays, Fridays and Sundays.
Statistics data shows that, during 2025, the Bratislava International Airport recorded a record number of 2,438,215 passengers, the highest annual volume since its establishment.
