Conflicts in Middle East: Foreign Ministry has not received requests for assistance from citizens of the Republic of Moldova

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announces that it has not received any requests for assistance from citizens of the Republic of Moldova. They are still urged to avoid non-essential travel to the Middle East and to closely monitor official information.

According to the MAE, in several countries in the region, rocket and drone attacks continue, and the airspace is closed, partially open, or affected. So far, no casualties or injured persons have been recorded among citizens of the Republic of Moldova in the monitored states.

At present, the airspace in the State of Israel is closed. The security situation remains without significant changes, with periodic rocket and drone attacks. Thus, citizens of the Republic of Moldova are urged to follow the measures established by the Israeli authorities and to remain in bomb shelters until the official announcement of the end of the alert. The Embassy of the Republic of Moldova is operating non-stop and is providing consular assistance. Following the checks carried out, no casualties or injured persons have been recorded among citizens of the Republic of Moldova.

The Administration for Foreign Workers has informed the Embassy that foreign workers from all sectors who left Israel with a valid re-entry visa (“Inter-Visa”), whose validity expired or is due to expire between 28 February 2026 and 14 March 2026 (inclusive), will benefit from an automatic extension of the validity of their visas until 21 March 2026 in the information systems of the Population and Immigration Authority. The extension is granted automatically, without submitting an application. The measure applies to persons who are currently outside Israel and who left the country with a valid re-entry visa, under the mentioned conditions. In the State of Qatar, the airspace and maritime space are closed. The security situation remains complicated. The authorities have introduced shelter-in-place measures, recommending that people remain in safe spaces. The Embassy of the Republic of Moldova has received requests and is providing consular support. No casualties or injured persons have been recorded among citizens of the Republic of Moldova. In the United Arab Emirates, the security situation remains tense. The airspace is partially open, and some exceptional flights are being resumed depending on airline schedules. Passengers are advised not to travel to the airport without prior confirmation. The Embassy of the Republic of Moldova is providing consular support, updated information, and guidance on transit options. No casualties have been recorded among citizens of the Republic of Moldova. In the Republic of Turkey, the airspace is open. The country remains a possible regional transit point. It is recommended to constantly check the status of flights before going to the airport. No incidents involving citizens of the Republic of Moldova have been reported. In the Lebanese Republic, the airspace is partially open or temporarily affected. The situation remains tense and can change rapidly. If necessary, citizens can call the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Turkey, also accredited to the Lebanese Republic, the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, at: +90 541 687 21 04.

Chisinau foreign ministry announces that the security situation in Iran remains extremely volatile. The Azerbaijan–Iran land border remains closed to normal traffic, and emergency exits are possible only through institutional coordination. According to the available information, there are no citizens of the Republic of Moldova in Iran, and no evacuation requests have been received. For possible emergency situations, people are urged to contact the diplomatic mission.

In the context of the escalations in the Middle East, citizens are further urged to avoid non-essential travel, to constantly check the status of flights, to follow the instructions of local authorities, to stay in contact with diplomatic missions, and to obtain information exclusively from official sources.
