PM meets Head of Norwegian Embassy's Office in Chisinau
Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu today had a meeting with the head of the Norwegian Embassy Office in Chisinau Kamilla Kolshus. The discussion focused on expanding the Moldovan-Norwegian cooperation and preparations for the opening of the Norwegian Embassy in Chisinau in next autumn.
During the talks, the sides highlighted the increasingly active bilateral cooperation, which will be further boosted by the opening of the Norwegian Embassy in Chisinau, facilitating the management of activities and technical assistance funds for Moldova.
In recent years, Norway has provided constant support for strengthening the energy security of Moldova and for managing the consequences of the Russian aggression in Ukraine. For the period 2022–2025, Norway allocated around 181 million euros, in order to strengthen the energy security, resilience, governance and Moldova’s European integration process. In addition, the country benefits from assistance under the Nansen Programme and support for the integration of refugees from Ukraine.
The interlocutors also discussed combating hybrid threats and the fight against disinformation, a field in which joint activities are being carried out to strengthen democratic institutions and cybersecurity.
The head of the Norwegian Embassy Office in Chisinau, Kamilla Kolshus, emphasized Norway’s openness to maintaining a constant dialogue and its readiness to provide assistance in line with the priorities of Moldovan authorities.
The Norwegian Embassy Office in Chișinău was opened in November 2025, and it is scheduled to be upgraded to a full Embassy in autumn, this year
