Chisinau Airport sets up temporary pre-boarding area, to ease passenger traffic
The Eugen Doga Chisinau International Airport has started setting up a temporary pre-boarding area meant to ease passenger flows and make the boarding process more efficient during peak traffic periods, airport representatives announced.
According to the Airport’s administration, the structures due to be installed will provide a covered space for passengers who are to be transported by bus to the aircraft. The area will be equipped with lighting and climate control systems, in order to ensure better waiting conditions before boarding.
Airport’s representatives note that setting up such temporary spaces is a widely used practice at international airports for efficiently managing passenger flows during peak periods.
The project was developed following consultations with handling operators and other operational structures involved, in order to identify the most effective solutions for organizing passenger flows and coordinating operational activities.
The work will be carried out on an accelerated schedule and the new temporary pre-boarding area is expected to be put into operation as soon as possible.
The development of this facility is part of the measures adopted by the Eugen Doga Chișinău International Airport, in order to adapt its infrastructure to the growing number of passengers and to maintain a high level of comfort and operational efficiency until the terminal expansion project is completed.
