Baccalaureate pass rate increases after additional session in Moldova: over 15,000 candidates pass exams
The overall pass rate for the national baccalaureate exam, after the additional session, has reached 81.9 per cent, up from 79.17 per cent in 2025. In total, 15,100 candidates passed the exam out of the 18,437 registered.
According to the Education and Research Ministry (MEC), the highest pass rate was recorded among lyceum graduates, where 96.11 per cent of candidates got the baccalaureate diploma. Thus, out of 11,887 enrolled lyceum pupils, 11,425 passed the exam.
As for candidates from colleges and centers of excellence, the pass rate was 66.55 per cent, meaning that 2,607 of the 3,917 candidates successfully passed the exam.
Among the 243 registered candidates from universities, 146 passed the exam, with the pass rate for this category standing at 60.08 per cent. At the same time, 393 of the 551 external candidates passed, which represents a pass rate of 71.32 per cent.
Among repeaters from previous sessions, 529 of the 1,839 candidates managed to pass the exam, with a pass rate of 28.76 per cent.
This year's results also show an improvement in the performance of graduates from theoretical lyceums. The average of the averages obtained at the national baccalaureate exam increased to 7.53, compared to 7.37 at the 2025 session.
In addition, this year's session was marked by a lower number of infringements of the regulation. Only one candidate was expelled from the exam for fraud, compared to seven at the previous session.
