Government to earmark over 1.2 million lei to build temporary roof for building in Durlești damaged by fire
The Commission for Emergency Situations (CSE) decided today to earmark from the Government's Reserve Fund over 1.2 million lei for the citizens living in Durlești, in the house that was damaged following a fire that occurred on 16 May. According to Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Vladimir Bolea, the money will be used to build a temporary roof.
"To protect against rain, it is necessary to build a temporary roof, in accordance with project documentation developed and verified by competent authorities. The cost of this is 1,217,076 lei, fully covered by the Government's Reserve Fund and will be transferred to Durlești city hall," explains Bolea.
Additionally, according to the official, to determine the extent of the project's design and consolidation works, it is necessary to conduct a technical expertise, the cost of which, according to calculations, amounts to over 55 thousand lei.
The fire at the building in Durlești, Chișinău municipality, which covered about 1,500 m² of roof, severely affected the residential block. 16 people required medical care, and three were hospitalized. According to the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, the fire was likely caused by failing to follow rules during open flame work.
Previously, the Government announced support measures for the affected residents: an initial financial aid of 10,000 lei for each family, vouchers for urgent needs, temporary accommodation, and direct assistance from the state.
