National Wine Day 2025: Grand Prize for outstanding achievements in viticulture to be awarded in Chișinău
National Wine Day will be celebrated in Chișinău on October 4-5. Traditionally, during the event, the Grand Prize for outstanding achievements in the viticultural field will be awarded. Government approved a decision to this end.
The award recognizes the remarkable quality of local wines and highlights the contribution made to the development of national wine tourism. The distinction is represented by a statue, which is handed over annually to the winning company. This year's candidate was selected by the Working Committee, established by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, which reviewed the applications submitted by wine companies.
The twenty-fourth edition of Wine Day will gather 106 wineries in the Great National Assembly Square. This year, for the first time, the admission ticket is available only in digital format. Visitors are invited to the Wine School, pottery, sculpture, weaving workshops, and traditional dances.
It is worth mentioning that recently, the Republic of Moldova won 21 medals at the prestigious 'Concours Mondial de Bruxelles', in the session dedicated to sparkling wines. Thus, Moldovan winemakers won 5 gold medals and 16 silver medals, representing an international recognition of the efforts made over the last decade.
In the first eight months of this year, the Republic of Moldova exported its wines to 65 countries. 59% of the wines are exported to European Union member states.
