Moldovan Central Electoral Commission submits documents to Constitutional Court for confirming lawfulness of parliamentary elections

The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) today submitted all necessary documents and materials to the Constitutional Court (CC) for confirming the results of the parliamentary elections held on September 28, 2025, and for validating the mandates of the elected MPs.

According to the CEC, the package includes the minutes concerning the centralization of the election results, the lists of elected lawmakers and substitute candidates, as well as the general report on the conduct and results of the election.

According to Article 125, paragraph (2) of the Electoral Code, the Constitutional Court has 10 days available, after the receipt of the documents, in order to confirm or deny the legality of the elections. This procedure can only take place after the final resolution of all complaints submitted to the electoral bodies or in the courts.

Subsequently, the Constitutional Court will adopt a decision regarding the validation of the mandates of the elected deputies and will confirm the lists of substitute candidates, which will allow the official establishment of the new parliament.
