Deputy Prime Minister: GDP growth shows economic recovery
The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) increased by 1.1 percent in the second quarter of 2025 compared to the same period last year. Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization Doina Nistor said that the increase shows that the country's economy is recovering.
"We released the national GDP figures yesterday. GDP grew by 1.1 percent. It is growth that shows that the economy is recovering, and we will continue to work to develop it," said Doina Nistor.
The Deputy Prime Minister stated that the GDP increase was primarily driven by the service industry, construction sector, information technology, public services sector, and financial services.
"We still have work to do to achieve growth in the industrial and agricultural sectors. I believe we will continue to see GDP growth. We have revised the GDP forecast for 2025 to 1.3% by the end of the year, and I believe we will adhere to these projections," the Economy Minister emphasized.
