Moldovan president says respect, care for seniors make society stronger, more united
President Maia Sandu has expressed her gratitude and appreciation to all the seniors of Moldova, on the occasion of the International Day of Older Persons.
The head of state highlighted the important role played by seniors in the life of each family and in society: "I wish all the seniors of Moldova good health, peace, and joy, alongside their loved ones. Our grandparents and parents taught us what it means to be human, to love our country and to cherish our family. Let us call and visit them more often, listen to them and make their lives easier. The respect and care for seniors make us a stronger and more united society."
The holiday of older persons was established by the United Nations General Assembly on December 14, 1990. For over three decades, the holiday aims to promote the rights of the elderly people and their positive image in society.
