Moldova's Agriculture Ministry launches third call for local development's funding through LEADER Programme
The Agriculture and Food Industry Ministry (MAIA) announces the launch of the third call for applications for the selection of local action groups (LAGs) and the approval of local development strategies that will benefit from funding on behalf of the National Fund for the Development of Agriculture and Rural Environment.
The call is open as of January 15 to February 24, 2026, and is addressed to local action groups included in the LAG List, managed by the Ministry through the information system, Moldova LEADER IT Soft (MLIS).
Applications will be submitted exclusively online through the MLIS platform, with the deadline being February 24, 2026, at 17:00.
According to the Agriculture Ministry, an equivalent of 7 per cent of the National Fund for the Development of Agriculture and Rural Environment is annually allocated for the implementation of the LEADER Programme. These resources are meant to support the development of rural communities through active involvement of the local population, entrepreneurship stimulation and creation of new local-level services.
The LEADER Programme contributes to strengthening the rural economy and improving the quality of life in villages, encouraging local initiatives and partnerships among authorities, the business environment and civil society.
