Crisis Cell : Middle East remains volatile area, citizens urged to avoid travel
The Crisis Cell of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova is operating on a permanent basis and continues to closely monitor security developments in the Middle East. As of this time, there are no casualties or injured persons among citizens of the Republic of Moldova located in the monitored states.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the diplomatic missions of the Republic of Moldova in the affected countries maintain permanent contact with local authorities and with Moldovan citizens in the area, in order to be able to intervene promptly, if necessary.
In certain states, the airspace remains closed or partially affected, and some flights may be canceled or rescheduled without prior notice. Local authorities are also applying enhanced security measures, including shelter-in-place recommendations and limitations on non-essential travel.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterates its call to Moldovan citizens in the region to avoid non-essential travel, to strictly follow the instructions of local authorities, to constantly check flight status directly with airlines, to stay in contact with diplomatic missions, and to seek information exclusively from official sources.
