Moldovan deputy PM says national roads operational, caution stays essential
Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Vladimir Bolea has emphasized the ongoing efforts of road workers, police officers and firefighters, in order to keep traffic flowing in blizzard conditions and called for caution and solidarity among citizens.
In the context of recent episodes of snow and blizzards, Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Bolea said that the authorities had mobilized all available resources to keep national roads operational. In the last 24 hours, 271 vehicles and 263 workers have intervened on routes, applying more than 2,800 tons of salt and anti-skid materials.
“The roads are not perfect and there are difficult sections, but the field teams are doing almost the impossible with the resources they have,” Bolea said. He highlighted the dedication of road workers, police officers firefighters and engineers who are restoring power lines and supporting road traffic.
The deputy PM called on citizens to travel only when strictly necessary, to be properly equipped and to maintain a spirit of goodwill. He also stressed that the snowfall was a blessing for farmers and that teamwork remains the key to overcoming the challenges brought by winter.
“The roads are being cleared. Winter will pass. Together, united, we can face any situation,” the official concluded.
