Russian service inspects more Moldovan can factories
Chisinau, 23 June /MOLDPRES/ - A group of experts of the Russian Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing (Rospotrebnodzor) started an inspection at six Moldovan can factories on 22 June. Three of these, namely Alfa-Nistru, Natur Bravo and Iliada-Plus, have already presented samples for testing in the specialised laboratory of Rospotrebnadzor, Acting Agriculture and Food Industry Minister Ion Sula said after meeting the Russian delegation.
The Moldovan officials informed the Russian side „about the advanced system of production and control of Moldovan products meant for export, as to food security and safety,” according to a press release by the Agriculture Ministry. it also reads that Rospotrebnadzor experts „will inspect the production lines and will have the possibility to objectively analyse to what extent the Moldovan fruit and vegetable cans comply with the Russian quality standards”.
Russia prohibited the import of fruits and cans from Moldova in June 2014. The trade exchange with Russia have been seriously affected by the embargoes put by Moscow on Moldovan alcoholic beverages, vegetables, fruits and cans. The data of the National Bureau of Statistics show that the Moldovan export to the Russian market diminished by 52.49 per cent in the first four months of 2015 against the same period of 2014 and its quota in the total of exports decreased to 11.1 per cent.
