Moldovan official at Bucharest Security Forum

The head of diplomacy from Chișinău, Mihai Popșoi participated today as a speaker in the panel - Promises for free and open seas on NATO and EU's eastern flank, held at the ninth edition of the Black Sea and Balkans Security Forum, organized in Bucharest.

Together with Bulgaria's Minister of Foreign Affairs Georg Georgiev, Romania's Secretary of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ana Tinca and two international experts, Mihai Popșoi discussed the strategic importance of the Black Sea region, maritime security, and the need for reinforced international cooperation.

The official highlighted the security challenges faced by the Republic of Moldova, especially in the context of the hybrid war conducted by the Russian Federation against the country and the entire region.

"In an increasingly complex regional context, close coordination among our countries is essential to ensure the stability and security of our citizens," Popșoi said.

On May 22-23, the ninth edition of the Black Sea and Balkans Security Forum – an international security conference in a regional format, gathering guests from various countries to discuss the risks, threats, and vulnerabilities in the Black Sea region and the Balkans – is taking place in Bucharest. The event is organized by the New Strategy Centre with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of National Defense of Romania.
